If there is still a tie, First Player is determined randomly. If there is a tie, the player with the fewest cards chooses First Player. Step 6 (Play X-Wing): In every game, the player with the lowest total Threat chooses First Player. Step 5 (Build a squad from drafted selections): Each player builds a squad less than or equal to the Threat Level of the event from their stack of chosen cards, and discards the remainder. Step 4 (End the draft): Repeat Step 3 until all players have chosen enough cards to equal or exceed the threat level of the event. The remaining players pass the rest of their hand to their right and keep their choices hidden. If the cards equal or exceed the Threat Level of the event, the player discards whatever is left in their draft hand and exits the draft group, keeping only the cards they chose. If the event is sufficiently large enough, split factions of 8 or more into groups as equally as possible. If players can't come into agreement, use an impartial method, such as drawing from a hat, to determine who plays which faction. You need at least two players per faction. Here is my stab at the rules for a pick-and-pass draft. So maybe you start looking for ace-killer ships in subsequent hands. In X-Wing terms, maybe you see there are lots of "ace" type ships in your first hand. I love this pick-and-pass method because it gives people partial information: each round you get more information about what's available, but each round gives you less information than the one before. Everyone draws from their new hand, and passes again, until some criteria is met. They choose one from their hand, then pass the remainder to the player to their left (or right, doesn't matter really). Many (most?) draft formats give each player X number of cards. Secondly, I'd like to talk a bit about adding some depth to this rules, to make it more of a draft-like format. First and foremost, thanks for putting this together! This is awesome, and I think that random draw like this is a good way to introduce people to the game and different mechanics!
